The mission of House of Hope - Illinois is to offer hope and help to hurting teens and their families through Biblical counseling, mentoring, residential education, and prayer with the love and compassion of Jesus Christ.  As hurts are healed, relationships are then restored, and families are reconciled.

We envision a community of healthy teenagers; spiritually, emotionally, mentally, and physically healthy, growing in relationship with God and others. We also envision teens demonstrating love and compassion toward others in this changing world.

• Minister to hurting teens and families non-residentially through individual and group support, spiritual support, and guidance from our Professional Team

• Open a residential education home in the Will County area to shelter, counsel, and educate struggling teens.

• Increase facilities to accommodate more teens
• Establish a non-residential counseling and center

Sara E. Trollinger is founder and president of House of Hope, a Christian non-denominational residential program for troubled teenagers, located in Orlando , Florida . Founded in 1985, House of Hope Orlando has helped to restore the lives of thousands of teenagers and to reconcile families. It serves as the national model for other Houses of Hope across the nation. >> more info

quick facts

• Began in 2004, praying about the mission
• Incorporated as an Illinois non-profit in October 2004
• Obtained 501C3 tax exempt status as determined by the IRS in October 2005
• Sara Trollinger, founder of House of Hope Orlando and the National House of Hope, visited Illinois and attended our first fundraising banquet in March 2006
• Began lay counseling with teens in May 2006
• Began Hope for Families parent support group in November 2006
• Began initial planning for residential homes 2007
• In 2008, our name changed slightly from "Illinois House of Hope" to House of Hope - Illinois to maintain a consistent brand with other Houses of Hope across the country
• 2008-2009 Continued to grow and build teams of volunteers to help with counseling, building, grant writing, funding, and event planning
• December 2009 - 2011 Moved to Manhattan, IL serving teens and families from a ministry home on the property of Christ's Mission Church
• 2010 professional counseling and Biblical lay counseling available
• 2012 opened a local office in Mokena - the heart of our community to serve our families better.
