there is hope

Josh is a 15 year old, filled with anger, not attending school regularly and therefore failing his classes. He has been in trouble with the police on more than one occasion and disregards any authority figure in his life. His substance use is now evident, and his focus is on friends and having a "good time".

By now, nothing is "normal" any more, the family is emotionally drained, life now focuses on Josh and his rebellion.
Do you know someone like Josh*? What now?

At House of Hope, we IMPACT the lives of teens. We meet teens where they are at in life. We listen. We understand. We love. We extend grace.

House of Hope - Illinois is a Christ centered ministry, offering hope and help to teens and families that are ready to make a change in their life. There is a war out there for the hearts and minds of our teens. The battle is for their heart, for what controls their heart, controls their life.

At times, parents might feel hopeless, frustrated, angry, helpless, or confused. We understand. Out of control teens negatively impact the family and our communities.

Teens filled with anger, pain, and disappointment can demonstrate problems with relationships, authority, and academics. Many hurting teens become rebellious, skilled at manipulation, and highly secretive.

At House of Hope - Illinois, we believe that good kids can unfortunately make bad choices. Through love, understanding, prayer and guidance - hurts can be healed, and lives can be changed.

there is help

We listen. We care.

For parents, we urge you to get connected with others in HOPE for Families on Wednesday nights.

Our mission is to offer hope and help to hurting teens and their families through Biblical counseling, mentoring, residential education, and prayer with the love and compassion of Jesus Christ.  We believe as hurts are healed, relationships are then restored, and families are reconciled.

December 2011: As we strive for excellence, we are presently searching for new office space in the community to serve our families better. We hope to have a more visible and easy to reach location for the people we serve. We are committed to helping families and our communities. We listen, we care.

HOPE for Families, our parent support group, is studying the book "Boundaries", by Dr. Henry Cloud and Dr. John Townsend. The book addresses specific issues that confront today's Christians. Issues such as:

  • Living a life out of control
  • Having people take advantage of us
  • Having trouble saying no
  • Being disappointed with God because of unanswered prayers and many more vital issues

Parents meet every Wednesday night at 7 PM in Mokena, IL. Please call for directions: (815) 485-2322.

quotes from our parents:

"If I listened to my friends and co-workers instead of the advice from HOPE for Families, I know for a fact I would not have my daughter today."

"I wish House of Hope was available when my son desperately needed help. We had no where to turn, no support during our time of crisis."

"She was not the same teen who walked into your office as when she walked out.  Thank you for what you do."

"Even though I do not attend HOPE for Families on a regular basis, the e-mails I receive from you show me that you really do care for me and my family."
